The TRUTH, The Truth, the truth…

There is an old Turkish proverb that admonishes:  “He that would tell the truth must have a fast horse and one foot in the stirrup.“

This sentiment suggests that truth can be endangering and the truth teller can be endangered.  History affirms the reality of this sentiment.  Yet, Unitarian Universalists persist in both pursuing the truth and being truth tellers.  This is our modus operandi.

In this pursuit and way of being we confront its critical question: “What is truth?”  This question will be the focus of our service.  A secondary question will also be addressed: “What does truth have to do with The River?”
