Happy August UU children and their families,
I expect that you are all having a fantastic summer. I hope that you are learning new things, having adventures near and far, and playing with your family and friends.
Some of you may not have seen our new Religious Exploration room in the Third Street Center. It’s just a couple of doors away from our old one. It’s a sunny and colorful space with a lot of your art work and ideas decorating the walls.
You probably know that we have a new minister, Stephan Papa. On Saturday August 17 our church is having a potluck picnic to welcome him. Maybe you could help make one of your favorite dishes to share. We’ll be gathering at the Tybar Ranch. It’s a beautiful place with many interesting animals.
We will be meeting for Religious Exploration on the same Sundays (usually the first and third of the month) as your parents or caregivers. Often we have the same theme as the adults so that everyone can share their ideas when the families reunite. We have enthusiastic discussions, read wonderful books, and make intelligent and beautiful art projects. I’m constantly amazed by your thoughtfulness, creativity and compassion.
I so look forward to seeing you on Sundays,
Director of Religious Exploration
