Exciting news! Starting in August, TRUU is going to have a new minister! Her name is Amy Rowland, and she comes to us from First Universalist Church in Denver, where she has recently completed her ministerial internship. Amy has many years of experience with smaller congregations and has trained with Robert Latham, among others. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Religion, two Master’s Degrees in Philosophy, a Ph.D. in Philosophy and a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver. She will complete her course work for her Master of Divinity this coming year at Iliff School of Theology in Denver.
She enjoys playing the guitar and singing, (duets with Jimmy?) bird watching, writing, hiking, cooking and swimming.
Amy will be serving TRUU as a half-time minister, but hopes to spend more time in our area than was possible for Gretchen.
In her own words: “Since learning of your congregation, it has been my hope that I might be able to work with you. I am drawn to TRUU’s potential and your ambition to serve the Roaring Fork area.”
“I am hopeful that our relationship might extend beyond one year, so that together we can live into the shared planning of this coming year. My partner and I are in a position to split our time between our home in Littleton and Carbondale in order to provide a more regular ministerial presence for your congregation.”
Please give Amy a warm welcome to our congregation as we move into this exciting new church year!
Thank you! Sue Coyle, Co-President of the Board
