Now that Same Sex Marriages are legal in the State of Colorado, couples may be wondering where they can get hitched by a minister in the Roaring Fork and Grand valleys. Reverend Stephan Papa of Two Rivers Unitarian Universalist congregation (TRUU) is looking forward to celebrating couples’ love and commitment not only in a spiritual ceremony, but also by signing a license that is now officially recognized by the State. Long a believer in marriage equality, Papa has been conducting Services of Union for same sex couples for years. For more information, contact Reverend Papa. Couples need not be Unitarian Universalists. Unitarian Universalism is a faith that encourages thinking, questioning, the equality of all people, self-definition of the divine, and active participation in social justice issues. It embraces principles by which to live, rather than dogma or creed. TRUU meets weekly at Third Street Center in Carbondale.
