“You are the World… The Liberating Truth of Radical Interconnection” Peter Williams
May 16th, 11:00 am (Potluck to follow service)
Bethel Chapel, corner of 9th Street and Cooper Avenue
The Jas Aspen All-Stars will provide special music.
We think of ourselves as separate, solid individuals that exist independently of everything else. However, the Buddhist tradition teaches that this is a false view of reality, that we are, in fact, deeply affected and formed by everything around us. Believing we are separate is the cause of all our suffering and is the root cause of conflict and violence in the world. Realizing the truth of radical interconnection frees our hearts and helps us rest in happiness love, and peace.
Peter Williams is a psychotherapist and dharma leader living in Boulder, Colorado. He has studied and practiced in the Theravada and Tibetan Buddhist traditions for 17 years. Peter leads meditation retreats and classes on the Front Range and the Western Slope and is certified as a Community Dharma Leader by Jack Kornfield’s Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
The Jas Aspen All-Stars will provide special music. The group includes Paul Struempler, Judy Bartel’s grandson, and pianist Walter Gorra who will also provide hymn accompaniments. A Potluck lunch will follow: bring your table service and a tasty dish to share.
